Data protection
Privacy
This page explains what the club collects at registration, why, who sees it and how long it is kept.
What is collected
Registering a new player asks for the following:
- Name, email, phone and home address of a parent or legal guardian
- Name, date of birth and school of the player
- National identification number of the player
- Registration type and optional comments
Why
The data is used only to process the registration, decide the team, contact you, affiliate the player with the FLBB and issue the invoice.
Legal basis
Processing rests on performance of the membership relationship and on your explicit agreement in the form. The national identification number is required for federation affiliation.
Children's data
Registration is completed by a parent or legal guardian. A child's data is used only for club activity and affiliation, and is never passed to outside third parties for advertising.
Who has access
The Sparta Bertrange committee, the relevant coaches, and the Luxembourg Basketball Federation (FLBB) for affiliation. Registrations are stored on the Wix platform that hosts this site.
How long
Data is kept for the duration of membership, then for at most five years for accounting and affiliation history. Applications that are not accepted are deleted after the season.
Volunteering
The undertaking to help at least once a year is a membership condition set by the club, not freely given consent under the GDPR. Your contact details are therefore held on an internal list used to tell you when and where help is needed.
